Session 5.3 - Effective Governance - from rules to tools

Representative democracy is in crisis. Business leaders are being named  and shamed. People are retreating into group identities defined by race, religion or culture. Organizations are discussing with new stakeholders, even with yellow vest movements on the streets and the kangaroo courts of social media. Does Internal Auditing stand at the right side of history?

Governance must be redesigned: from compliance to enlightened self-interest, uniformity to diversity, hierarchy to participation, planning to tryout, zero-risk to innovation, process control to market orientation, from rules to tools.
