Director Internal Audit EMEA
Phil has spent his career in various audit, risk and governance roles, which have provided the opportunity to contribute to many aspects of corporate activity, ranging from M&A, rights issues, due diligence and flotations, to corporate governance, policy creation and implementation of internal audit and risk management strategies at a wide variety of businesses; both in size and sector.
Phil joined Amazon in June 2018 as Director of Internal Audit, EMEA - a newly created role. Phil says he is biased, but he thinks it is a privileged and exciting role; working in a demanding, fast paced and fast growing business that provides new challenges and opportunities every day.
Before joining Amazon, Phil previously held global Director of Audit roles at Rolls-Royce plc (a UK FTSE 30 Aerospace business – not cars!) and Dixons Retail plc (a FTSE 100 retailer). Prior to this, Phil spent his career at PwC. When he left, Phil was a Director in the risk and internal audit consulting practice in London, leading fully outsourced and co-sourced internal audit functions, directing audit effectiveness reviews, and providing advice on risk management and internal audit to global and major national organisations operating across a broad range of industries.
